What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry is a bracelet, anklet, or necklace custom-fitted just for you and welded closed with a micro-welder to create a beautiful, seamless piece, no clasp required!Choose from dainty (and sparkly!) 14k gold-filled, sterling silver, or ceramic chains, then make it your own. Stack your favorites, mix metals, or add charms for a look that feels completely personal.
What are your chains made out of?
We offer a beautiful variety of chains to suit every style, including 14k gold-filled, sterling silver, and ceramic options with gold or silver accents. Our most popular choice is 14k gold-filled, a high-quality, water-friendly and tarnish-resistant alternative to solid gold. Unlike gold-plated jewelry, gold-filled chains contain a substantial layer of genuine 14k gold that is pressure-bonded over a jeweler’s brass core, giving you beautiful, long-lasting wear without the price of solid gold. With proper care, gold-filled jewelry can last for years. Because everyone’s skin chemistry and products are different, some natural changes in the finish may occasionally occur over time.
How do I choose the right chain and fit?
That’s part of the fun! We’ll help you explore our collection of 14k gold-filled, sterling silver, and ceramic chains to find a style you love. Mix metals, add a charm, or keep it beautifully simple.Once you’ve chosen your chain, we’ll custom-fit it to you so you can decide exactly how snug or relaxed you’d like it to feel. You’ll have a chance to make sure you love the look and fit before your chain is cut and welded into place.
If it's permanent, does that mean it will never come off?
While our bracelets are made to stay on, if you need to remove them for any reason gently use a pair of scissors or nail clippers and cut your piece at the welded link. We'll point this link out to you while you're with us! Keep your chain and you can bring it back in when you're ready to wear it again! We'll happily reweld it for a $10 service fee.
Can I change my mind after my permanent jewelry is fitted?
Because each chain is custom-measured and cut just for you, all permanent jewelry is final sale once the chain has been cut. Be sure you love your chain and fit before we make it permanent! If you'd like to adjust the fit later, we may be able to help. Chains can usually be shortened by removing links. Lengthening may require adding a jump ring or charm, depending on the chain style. Reworking fees range from $10–$25, and charms are available for $6–$25.
What happens if my chain breaks?
Permanent jewelry is designed to stay with you, but it isn’t indestructible. Like any dainty jewelry, chains can break if caught or pulled and may naturally experience wear over time. Your chain style, lifestyle, and daily activities can all affect its longevity. We guarantee our welds for six months. If your chain breaks at the welded link due to a weld failure within that time, we’ll happily re-weld it at no charge. If your piece breaks beyond repair within the first six months, you may purchase a replacement chain for 50% of the original chain price.Damage caused by cutting, catching, pulling, or normal wear is not considered a weld failure.
Can I wear my permanent jewelry through the airport?
Yes, our chains are TSA friendly (and we've personally tested it!) so you will never need to worry about taking them off.
What if I need an MRI or medical procedure?
Some medical procedures may require you to remove your permanent jewelry. Always follow the instructions of your healthcare provider or medical facility. If removal is necessary, simply cut the chain at the welded jump ring and keep your chain in a safe place. Once you're cleared to wear it again, bring it back to THE pearl and we can re-weld it for you.Never delay or avoid a medical procedure because of your permanent jewelry.
