COVID-19 Client Health + Sanitation Standards


Thank for being a loyal and supportive client of THE pearl. We value your belief in us, and we have always taken your safety and health with the utmost importance and care. As licensed professionals this is not only our job, it is our commitment.


The recent events of this crisis have changed the way each of us live our lives and that’s no different here at THE pearl. With that in mind we want walk you through what we are doing as a business to ensure your safety and health.


We also will share the steps we need you to take so that we all work together to have the service experience you expect in the relaxed and nurturing way that you can count on from us. Your care and comfort mean everything to us. Thank you for taking a moment to review this. We appreciate your patronage.

All clients will be asked to complete a client consultation, client health screening and client waiver prior to the day of their appointment. These forms will be sent to you via email after scheduling your appointment.


If you are sick or feel any symptoms of sickness on the day of your appointment, we kindly ask that you re-schedule.


Upon re-opening and until further notice, all clients will be welcomed to THE pearl through our Akoya room entrance, located in the main lobby of our building. This measure is to ensure proper social distancing and safety practices are adhered to.


THE pearl is pleased to offer contactless check in via text messaging. Directions on how to easily inform us of your arrival will be sent via text approximately one hour prior to your appointment, or, simply text I'm Here to 301-900-5585 and we will respond with your next steps as soon as possible. 


Please bring only the bare necessities with you (keys, wallet, phone).In addition, we ask that you come alone to your appointment as we have no waiting areas currently available.


Hand sanitizer will be available for use prior to entering THE pearl.


All clients must wear a mask during their entire visit to THE pearl. We will have disposable masks available should there be a need.


All clients will receive a second verbal health screening, in addition to temperature check prior to entering THE pearl.


All clients will be escorted directly to the treatment room or service area after checking in. Upon re-opening and until further notice, our locker rooms, and the use of bathrobes and sandals will not be available, unless you are receiving multiple treatments. We understand this comes as a disappointment to many and we apologize for any unmet expectations at this time. We hope to receive more guidance on ensuring compliance of spaces such as our locker rooms by our state government soon.


All client visits will begin with a ceremonial hand washing ritual using your choice of our signature Icelandic Moonflower purifying wash or our nourishing, fragrance free wash, UnZented.


Clients will undress in the treatment room. A sanitized bin will be provided to place clothing.


All clients must wear their face mask throughout their treatments. Facials and facial waxing’s are an exception, and extra caution will be maintained throughout the treatment.


Upon service completion, each client will have the option of relaxing in the lounge for a few moments. A member of our reservation team will notify you when you are able to check out.

All clients will check out in our boutique, using social distancing guidelines to ensure the health and safety of fellow clients and our pearl team.


THE pearl kindly requests that our clients refrain from using testers of our homecare products at this time. If you have an interest in a specific product, please let someone from our team know so that we may be able to assist you with your questions.


We highly recommend using your credit card on file to complete your payments. Please call us to update this information.


All pearl life memberships will be extended an additional 4 months beyond their initial expiration date

THE pearl has been completely disinfected and sanitized prior to our re-opening.


Preventative Maintenance service has been performed on building HVAC Systems which included coil cleaning with an anti-microbial disinfectant, installation of upgraded MERV 10 pleated filters and replenishment of disinfectant tablets in condensate pans


All treatment beds are covered with Medical Grade Terratouch fabric covers which allow complete adherence to the CDC’s disinfecting guidelines for COVID-19.


Door handles, manicure tables and reception desks will be coated with NanoSeptic self-cleaning skins that will continuously clean and disinfect these high-touch surfaces.


All products in our boutique and dispensary have been safely cleaned and sanitized using ultraviolet therapy


Each member of our pearl team will participate in our mandatory safety and sanitation trainings and must  pass the certification test with 100%  accuracy prior to returning to work



All members of THE pearl team will be asked to stay home should they feel sick. Temperature checks may be performed as needed on our pearl team.


All members of our pearl team will wear masks, face shields (as appropriate) and gloves per client request, changing gloves between clients.


Handwashing will be performed before and after each client interaction.


Employee areas, such as our employee lounge and manager’s office will temporarily be limited to not more than 3 team members at a time. Social distancing must be adhered to.  


Common areas, such as our boutique, hallways, rest rooms and Akoya room will be disinfected every 30 minutes or after each client interaction, whichever is necessary.


Treatment rooms will be completely disinfected after each service. Additional time will be provided between treatment times to ensure proper protocols are being used.


Reception desks, credit card machines and other high touch points will be disinfected after each client interaction.


UV sanitation will be available to sanitize all boutique items (products, bags, tissue) prior to leaving the spa, at our guests’ request.


At this time, and until further notice, the following pearl services will remain unavailable.  We will continue to update our clients as these signature experiences begin to re-open.
