THE spa

 Located on Lake Kitamaquandi in beautiful downtown Columbia, our 27,000 square foot wellness retreat features a host of self-care therapies, allowing our guests to have all of their wellness needs to be met under one roof.  


THE pearl is honored to offer mindful movement classes from our two lakefront studios, restorative spa services, 3 separate lounges to suit the needs of all of our guests, a therapeutic healing waters environment (coming soon) that includes an indoor relaxation pool, hot tub, cold plunge, steam room, and crystal salt room.


Separate men and women locker facilities include lockers, showers, and private saunas.

We aspire to cultivate a centered mind and a healthy body, and to eliminate that which challenges your mental and physical state. We believe in the healing powers of nature and traditional remedies from around the world. Our goal is to share our knowledge and expertise with all. Most importantly, we believe that every person is as unique and as extraordinary as a pearl. Our natural nail manicures and pedicures are offered in a beautiful, serene environment. THE pearl prides itself on using the safest and highest quality ingredients, to ensure healthy hands and feet. 

Our wellness lounge offers clients time to relax before or after spa services or mindful movement classes. A wonderful place to share a cup of our signature tea with friends. Within the spa, a serene quiet lounge is available for use for those who prefer to relax in solitude. 

Our mindful movement classes are centered around self-care and are offered in a supportive group environment. Traditional yoga, barre, cardio and mediation sessions are  available 7 days a week.

Although we do accept walk-in clients when possible, our clients are generally seen by appointment only. Please keep in mind that weekends and evenings often fill our schedule early. We suggest scheduling your next spa treatment before leaving the spa so that you can have your desired time and treatment.

Gift certificates may be redeemed for services, classes,  or retail products unless specified. At this time, THE pearl is unable to replace if lost or stolen.

We request the courtesy of a 12-hour cancellation for all movement classes, 24-hour cancellation notice for all spa services and a 48-hour notice for packages and parties. Cancellations that are made less than 24-hours notice for spa services will be charged 100% of the service cost. No-shows for appointments will also be charged 100% of the service cost. Cancellations made less than 48-hours for packages and parties will be charged 100% of the package or party total.

We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. If you are a first-time client, please arrive 20 minutes early as a profile will be completed prior to your service.

We regret that late arrivals will not receive an extension of scheduled service times & will be responsible for full-service fees.

Out of consideration for other guests, please mute phone ringers. Cell phone use is not permitted within the spa, wellness lounge, or quiet lounge.

What should I know before booking an appointment?

Please see answers below as well as our Pearl Courtesies, which will tell you everything you need to know about your visit to the spa as well as what to do should you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. If you have other questions that aren't answered there, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.

What are the health benefits to visiting a spa?

A spa visit is a great experience for the mind, body and soul which will leave you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Spa treatments can also address your particular skin and body problems, making you look more vibrant and feeling more confident. Some spa and wellness treatments will also assist in resolving many physical and emotional ailments. Please see our menu for a list of these services.

There are so many services, how do I know which one to choose?

It is all about personal preference and need. Some people really enjoy massage, while others would rather have a manicure, a special skin treatment, etc. Our packages give you the opportunity to try several treatments in one visit. And our pearl reception team is always happy to assist you in selecting the perfect treatment. Please contact us to discuss your best options.

Do I need to bring anything particular to my appointment? Will I need to undress?

If your services include a pedicure, we suggest you bring open-toed sandals or flip-flops, since your toes will take some time before they're fully dry.

Masks are currently optional for our staff, clients, guests and members. If you prefer to have your provider wear a mask, please inform your therapist prior to the service.

All guests who are receiving a massage, facial or body treatment will have the opportunity to enjoy a robe before and after their service. If you prefer, you may undress in the treatment room prior to beginning your service.

​For massage, you can undress to your comfort level, and will be covered with a sheet for your privacy. Facial clients will be given a facial gown to be worn during the treatment.

How early should I arrive for a spa treatment?

THE pearl recommends arriving for your spa treatment a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Our lounges are now open and we welcome guest to enjoy a cup of tea or a moment of relaxation before or after their services. Our lounges open at 30 minutes prior to our opening times, and close at our specified closing time for the day.

Please note that late arrivals will have treatment times adjusted accordingly to ensure timeliness for next guest and charged for full treatment originally reserved.

Can I bring my children or others with me?

At this time, we are not able to accommodate guests who do not have appointments. This is for the safety of our guests and staff, and to ensure that we are maintaining both the social distancing and the maximum occupancy laws set in place.

Children under 16 will not be able to receive services at this time. as we are unable to accommodate the supervising adult that is necessary to perform the treatment. The exception, however, is if both parent and child are receiving manicure or pedicure services simultaneously.

Can I make arrangements for a series of recurring, or standing appointments?

Certainly, just tell us what time works best for you! We are at your service to find the best time in your schedule for booking your regular appointments, whether it is weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Should I take any special precautions?

Yes, if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, have recently undergone any surgeries, or are taking medication, please let us know at the time of booking your appointment. Please note that we are unable to perform massage on any guest who is in their first trimester.

What about gratuities?

Gratuities are traditionally offered in recognition of exceptional service, so we would not presume to include them in our prices. Should you wish to tip your treatment staff, you can do so directly or add it to your bill at the end of your spa visit. Gift Certificates do not include gratuities.

How do I purchase a Gift Certificate?

THE pearl offers a variety of ways to purchase Gift Certificates. You may pick up a gift certificate, order one by phone or you have the option of purchasing an instant Gift Certificate, by clicking here.

For phone and internet orders you need to provide us with credit card details (we use secure online system).
