Outdoor Activity

Rediscover your neighborhood by taking a walk around the block. Maybe this is your “me” time, a time to talk with your family about their day, or walk the dog. Want to double the health benefits? Make your walk a "walk of gratitude" and spend your time in nature focusing on all of the things you are grateful for. This simple technique not only gives you a sense of wellbeing, but the positive effects of exercise will flood your brain with happy neurotransmitters and endorphins.

Take a Hike


If you are looking for an outdoor activity that is a bit more challenging than walking, look for local areas that you can travel to, and enjoy a couple hours of trail walking or hiking. Consider making a day of it, and bringing a picnic lunch and other outdoor games. Games could include selections that encourage physical activity, such as throwing a Frisbee or bocce ball.
